Reader's Comments:

Having lived in the Southwest, I was impressed with the author's intimate knowledge of the land and its history. The description of the land and its people during the time of the Arizona Rangers is outstanding.

McLaughlin has done a great job of highlighting a nearly forgotten episode of western history ... It is also apparent that the author is extremely familiar with his subject and the settings of this novel. This is cleary evident by his rich descriptions, entertaining dialogue and captivating story line.

The author has not only spent research time to base the Rangers' tale, but lived the modern role along the Borderlands. He spent time on the ground, smelling the sage and looking for the "badmen", much like the early Arizona Rangers. To meet the author is to meet a true lawman, to read the book is to step back to the border lawmen of territorial Arizona.
